Good vibrations.

Desperate for a six pack

I’m lazy. Or was lazy. I had once been a member of a gym for a few months and then cancelled after going a handful of times. I’m not concerned I’m overweight though – apparently I have a normal BMI. It’s my inability to get to my third floor flat without wheezing uncontrollably or the way my stomach and arm muscles move independently when on a bumpy bus journey that concerns me most.

So when the obviously targeted at ‘New Years resolution makers’ Slendertone abs belts were advertised recently, I couldn’t help but be drawn to ‘the equivalent of 120 stomach crunches a day’ while sitting watching Hollyoaks after work.

So I invested in the female abs system belt and was terribly excited when it arrived. I charged it up and tried it straight away. To be honest, I was under the impression I would wake up the next day feeling the effects of it but that’s not the case. I’ve used it for 25 minutes every day for the last week and it’s not been painful in anyway. It’s definitely too early to tell if this has had any effect, but I’ll persevere and try to answer that ongoing question – ‘do toning belts really work?’

Bad Hair Day. What a mare.

Naaeeh luck with your hair growing?

Naaeeh luck with your hair growing?

My boss came into work and was wearing a nice jumper. Being the suck up, I complimented him on it and then he proceeded to give me the history behind the purchasing. Turns out he purchased it from a posh type shop called Jack Wills while at a Golf club, or something like that. I googled it, along with one of my work colleagues and although we briefly looked at the clothes (not really my thang), our main source of hilarity was the noticeboard – a forum for users of the site.

We gaffawed at the tough life the polo set live, many of the hot topics included ‘what are your horses called?’ – responses included ‘I have 13 horses called Daisy etc’ and ‘where are you going on holiday’ – responses including ‘South Africa for 3 weeks, then onto Australia for 2’. But in amongst this information was ‘how do I get that messy hair look?’ These people probably struggled to get that messy hair look given that they have probably never had a rough night’s sleep and woken up with hair so bad, it won’t even be tied up. However, one of the posters said that a horse shampoo makes your hair grow quicker.

So I investigated further and found the shampoo and other products in question. Apparently Mane N Tail shampoo is the thing to get. It is widely available in America, but there’s only one decent stockist in the UK. So I found the distributor and had a bottle of shampoo and conditioner posted out to me within the week. Have been using it for a week and not seen any noticeable effects, but I will continue for a few weeks and report back…
